Scouting for Food is a service project we do every year with the National Scouting Program nationwide.  Our local food collected is donated to the Marlborough Food Pantry to help keep it stocked throughout the winter for families in need.

The boys start on a Saturday/Sunday by hanging flyers on the door knobs of every house in our territory.   The following Saturday, the boys drive by those same houses collecting donations to bring to the food pantry.

Do's and Don'ts

  • DO try to have the flyers handed out by Noon
  • DO try to have all collections done by Noon the following week
  • DO hang flyers on door knobs if possible or place inside screen doors
  • DO NOT hang flyers on mailboxes (town won't let us)
  • DO NOT flyer houses that look un-safe or have really long drive-ways (if you can't see the house from the road, skip it).
  • DO be polite, cheerful and courteous if you meet a homeowner.  Hand the flyer to the person and say you are helping to collect food as part of a community service project.  Be proud.

Drop off is at the Walker Building.  Enter from Prospect Street by the I.C. Church.
