Six Flags Scout Camporee - June 8-9 2013

posted Jun 5, 2013, 5:39 AM by Scout Marlboro

The annual Scout Camporee at Six Flags New England is almost here!

For everyone that is attending, please read the following information so you are ready to make this weekend a great success!

Check in will take place on Saturday morning between 7:30am and 9am.  Please be sure to arrive no later than 9am so as to not get mixed in with the flow of normal guest arrivals.  Please proceed to the standard parking lot (located across the street from the park).  A Six Flags Representative will be located in the parking lot to help direct you to parking area.  Once parked, please report to the Group Sales Window located just outside the Main Gate of the park.  Each Troop will be allowed to drive a limited number of vehicles carrying your equipment to the Picnic Grove.  SFNE Staff will escort all vehicles.  Please note that because we have limited access and space for vehicles to bring equipment down to camping area, we request that you pack as much as you can into a limited number of vehicles.  These vehicles will meet your group in the Grove to unload and will then be escorted back to the main parking lot.

All meals are included with your package so there is no need to bring food.  Six Flags does not allow outside food to be brought into the park.  Since we provide all meals, you will also not need to bring any cooking/eating materials.  Please note knives, non-battery operated lanterns, fuels, etc. are not allowed at Six Flags New England.

Everyone will be required to remain in the Rivers Edge Picnic Grove while the park is not open.  The park will be open 10am-10pm and the water park will be open 11am – 7pm.  Please arrive in the grove no later than 9:45pm on Saturday as to not get mixed up with the general crowd as the park begins to get cleared by Security.

The Rivers Edge Picnic Grove does have bathroom facilities that will be open all day and night.  There are no showers available in the Grove, however they are available during normal operating hours in Hurricane Harbor Water Park.

Once the park is closed for the evening, the campfire will begin.  An evening snack and fun will be provided.

Lights Out will be no later 11:30 pm.

Sunday Morning – Wakeup call will be at 7:00 am and breakfast will begin at 7:30am.  Around 8:00am Six Flags representatives will begin to escort those who brought a vehicle down to the grove to unload back to their vehicles to bring them back to load up equipment.  Please do not go to get your vehicle until your entire group is ready to pack the vehicle.  All breakdown needs to be completed by 9:15am.  Once loaded, all vehicles will be returned to the main parking lot.  At 9:30am, everyone will be escorted for exclusive early ride time on a select ride (ride TBD).  Early ride time cannot begin until everyone has broken down and returned their vehicles to the main parking lot.

First Aid/Security – Will be available at the camping area at all times during the event.  First Aid is also available in the Rockville Section of the park and in Hurricane Harbor Water Park during normal operating hours.
