Summary As a Lion, your kindergartner will make friends, laugh loud, gain confidence, discover nature, and most of all…have fun! They will experience the Scouting concepts of character development, leadership, citizenship, and personal fitness through engaging and exciting adventures!! Your kindergartner will have a blast exploring the world around them in ways that fuel their imagination and creativity. Together, you’ll take their first steps down the path to success.

How are Lions different from other Cub Scouts?

The Lion program weaves traditional Scouting concepts of character development, leadership skills, personal fitness and citizenship into activities that are age-appropriate and fun for the boys and girls their parents. The activities introduce the family to Scouting activities and principles, and provide an exciting way for the lions to explore the world around them. The program will fuel their imagination, creativity and fun as they experience the growth Scouting can provide. At the end of the Lion year, they “graduate” to Tiger, and advance through Cub Scouting. Boys and girls in the Lion program are still a part of Cub Scouts, they just do things a little different. Take a look at what you can expect from the new program:

  • In Lions, you’ll find the familiar concepts of character development, leadership skills, personal fitness and citizenship weaved into activities that are age-appropriate and fun.

  • “Adventures,” which are themed sets of activities and experiences, will help families explore the world around them.

  • Lions will form into dens of six to eight boys or girls. Parents will serve as “Lion Guides.”

  • When completing an adventure, a Lion will earn an “adventure sticker” for their Lion Adventure Book.

  • Instead of the blue button-up uniform, Lions will love wearing their very own Lion T-shirt.

  • At the end of the kindergarten year, Lions will graduate into Cub Scouting as Tigers, where even more fun and adventure await!
