We believe Scouts should earn their own way to pay for Scouting through our easy fundraisers! Well, maybe with a little help from family. This allows us to keep our Pack 31 costs low year after year. Most importantly though, Pack 31 will never turn away a child because of a family's inability to pay. The Scout Law teaches the value of helping others, and that absolutely includes helping our fellow Scouts!
From dues, to uniforms, to events, to finanical aid, we break it all down for you.
Total Annual Dues Approximately = $270
$85 to National | Scouting America
$85 to Council | Mayflower Council
$100 to Pack 31 | Can be fully refunded by meeting fundraising goals
For an additional $15 a year you can add a Scout Life Magazine subscription
National & Council Dues were last updated in 2025, they may change in the future.
Please note these National and Council registration fees go directly to Scouting America and the Mayflower Council. Pack 31 does not directly receive any of this money. These fees are used to cover the cost of essential services for Scouting America such as liability insurance, background checks, technology, program creation, Council run events, and more.

Pack 31 Hosted Events | Typically $0 - $10
The vast majority of Pack 31 hosted events are completely free, this includes camping, Pinewood Derby, hiking, and more.
Some events may include alternative ways to offset costs - such as donate an item to a service project to receive your Pinewood Derby kit, bring a potluck appetizer, or pay a small $5 fee to attend the Blue and Gold Banquet.
Our goal every year is to earn enough via fundraising to ensure all Scouts can partipant in every and any adventure they want, without worrying about cost.
Mayflower Council & Other Events | About 2 to 5 a Year | Typically $10 - $40
Mayflower Council events, such as Range Day, will usually always have a small registration fee of some kind.
Optional events hosted at other organizations, such as colorguard at a Worcester Railers game, will typically have a ticket cost associated with it.
Pack leadership does its best to find places that provide discounted pricing to Scouts, and find ways to offset costs with Pack's fundraising efforts.
The Mayflower Council will waive the memebership dues for any family who needs financial assistance. Simply fill out the Waiver Form and let the Cub Master know so they can reach out to the Council and ensure everything goes through in a timely manner.
Pack 31 routinely receives donated uniforms, camping gear, and more. If you are interested in one of these uniforms, or any type of hiking and camping gear, please reach out to the Cub Master and they will do their best to find everything you and your Scout need.
While fundraising Scouts have the ability to earn Scout Bucks by reaching and exceeding their goals. The Scout Bucks can be redeemed to pay for events, activities, uniform pieces, prizes and more. More detailed information is released at the start of each Fundraising season.
